| Alondra Park Men’s Golf Club Minutes Tuesday January 14, 2025, 6:00pm Pledge of Allegiance Officers Present: Richard Duran (President), Roger Dehaan (Secretary), Earl Gillings (Handicap Chair), Terry Black (Membership Chair), Rolf Mast (Treasurer) Recording Secretary: Minutes of prior meeting were distributed to the members present. Motion was made to accept the minutes with no corrections and passed. President’s Report: President Duran welcomed club member David Johnson, Michael Oden, and Dan McCausland to the meeting. At this meeting we will be nominating a new Secretary as we are losing Roger DeHaan as a board member. Motion made to nominate Dan McCausland as Secretary, seconded and passed. New rules were handed out at last tournament to reflect course conditions due to sprinkler improvements. Rules noted to be winter rules only in the fairway to not penalize those in the correct position on a hole. Treasurer’s Report: APMGC currently has $26,502 in reserves. Would like to get this dollar amount in the $10k range which keeps us in good shape. Motion made to not accept chits as payments for club dues seconded and passed unanimously. Paid $3,187 to Plaza Golf in December which is typical for holiday season. Discussed increasing closest to pin and prize money extended to lower money reserves. Treasurer to run numbers for actual exposure of said increases. Will report in between meeting with financial impact to bring to next meeting in March. Membership Chair Report: Chairman Black reports that our present count is 241 full members, 288 associate members for a total of 517 members. Reiterated associate members cannot win prize money at any APMGC Tournaments. Handicap Report: Chairman Gillings shares no problems posting scores on Sundays and Wednesdays. Chairman Gillings proposes APMGC impose $10 fee for those golfers that no show to any tournament in the future. Reason we need to keep in good standing with golf course and their respective business operation. For now, no shows will be moved to the back of the tee sheet at subsequent tournament. Tournament Report: Chairman Gillings shares 42 players weathered the rain to finish the tournament in the January Mixer. 4 withdrew, 1 did not finish due to the rain. Next up Stableford in February. Webmaster: Chairman Gillings shares no issues. New schedule posted on APMGC.ORG. New Business: Chairman Black was in attendance for county board meeting regarding restructuring of county golf courses and groups. Motion to adjourn and seconded at 7:10pm.
